ACG Utah Adventure Talk

Date:
03/14/2010

PARK CITY – One man receives funding to climb a mountain in Antarctica named after himself; a Denver schoolteacher climbs the tallest peaks in each state in record time; and then there’s the crazed golfer who receives sponsorship for hitting a golf ball 1,319 miles across Mongolia. Corporations sponsored these expeditions and others as part of the growing field of adventure marketing – demonstrating product performance in extreme conditions to increase sales to consumers, build retail traffic, and motivate employees.

Expedition News editor and travel public relations professional Jeff Blumenfeld will address the New York and Utah chapters of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) on March 14 to explain how American corporations send their products up mountains and to the bottom of the sea to boost sales. In his new book, You Want to Go Where?: How to Get Someone to Pay for the Trip of Your Dreams (Skyhorse Publishing), Blumenfeld explains why companies such as Land Rover, National Geographic, Polartec, and Rolex are in the adventure game.

The adventure talk will take place on Sunday evening, March 14, 2010, during the 2nd Annual ACG Dealmakers Ski & Board Conference at the Park City Mountain Resort. The purpose of the conference is to help top private equity and transaction growth professionals from around the country connect with each other. The cost of the entire March 13-15 conference is $275 for ACG Members and $325 for non-members and includes meals, lift tickets, the Fastest Dealmaker Ski Race, and three days of networking opportunities.

Cost to attend the adventure talk alone is $50 and includes dinner. For more information: log onto www.acgutah.org or call 801 359 8613.
