Washington County Economic Development October Meeting
Derek Miller, the managing director of Recruitment and Incentives for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and Jeff Edwards, CEO and president of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah will be featured speakers at the October meeting of the Washington County Utah Economic Development Council. Miller will be addressing the “state of economic development in Utah,” an especially meaningful theme considering the recent appointment of Spencer Eccles as director of GOED and Josh Romney as the national business-recruitment policy adviser, as well as Governor Herbert’s announced changes in economic development priorities and policy for the state. Edwards will present an annual report of EDCUtah activities, milestones and achievements, including their partnership with GOED and our Council. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, beginning at 4 p.m. in the water district offices located at 533 E. Waterworks Drive. Tours of the new facility will be available following the meeting at approximately 5 p.m.
