Authorities find marijuana farms near Porterville

Morgan County sheriff’s deputies rounded up thousands of marijuana plants Wednesday along the heavily forested west slopes of the mountains near Porterville, about five miles south of Morgan.
Sheriff’s Detective Bill Wentland said about 7,000 plants were found at three sites a few miles from the nearest roadway, and in extremely steep terrain.
