Effort to soothe mobile home disputes meets resistance

About two dozen mobile homeowners, decked out in matching yellow T-shirts, filled a Capitol Hill committee room Wednesday to support draft legislation that would foster a more open relationship between park owners and their tenants.
Conflicting property rights lie at the root of the ongoing animosity between the two parties. Manufactured home owners have tens of thousands of dollars invested in their not-so-mobile structures but private parties or corporations own the land under the homes.
