Home sales, prices decline in Salt Lake County

Sales of single-family homes in Salt Lake County declined by 11.4 percent in the second quarter compared with the same period last year, the Salt Lake Board of Realtors reported Tuesday.
From April through June, 2,591 single-family homes sold in the county, down from 2,924 homes sold in the same quarter of 2010.
The median selling price of all single-family homes sold there in the first quarter also fell on a year-over-year basis, by 8.4 percent to $201,595.
