New fire station should mean shorter response times in Riverton

Riverton residents are losing a corner of their city park, but gaining a fire station.
The Unified Fire Authority recently broke ground on a new Riverton station on property that formerly was a baseball field. The station is expected to reduce response times for emergency calls to less than six minutes.
