Panel votes to boost Utah stream-access program

The Utah Supreme Court will have a say about whether it’s a necessary public expense, but a state task force reviewing stream access from private property has recommended spending $1.3 million to lease fishing rights. The Legislature’s stream-access task force recommended Thursday that the state Division of Wildlife Resources allocate $300,000 a year in reserved license fees to a program paying owners for walk-in access.
