Tongan officials coming to Utah to talk land issues

In Tonga, women are allowed to rent land but they can’t own it. As the kingdom’s leaders consider possible changes to that law and others concerning property, a Royal Land Commission is gathering input at four public meetings this week in the Salt Lake City area. More than 8,600 Tongans called Utah home in 2000, making the community one of the largest outside of the island.
