Utah man admits to mortgage-fraud scheme

A Utah County man is set for sentencing next month after pleading guilty in federal court to conspiracy in a mortgage-fraud scheme.
James Andrew Lawyer, 30, will be sentenced Oct. 26 in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City after pleading guilty last week in a scheme involving the purchase of a Highland home.
Lawyer admitted he conspired with someone identified in court records only as B.G. and at least one other person to commit wire fraud and money laundering.
