A construction worker was flown to a hospital in serious condition after he fell into an elevator shaft on Wednesday.
Unified Fire Authority spokesman Cliff Burningham said the man was working on the second of a condominium site near Solitude Ski resort when he fell into the elevator shaft at about 11:30 a.m.
The man, who is in his 30s, fell about 12 feet, landing on concrete, Burningham said.
He was reported to have gotten up and asked for help, but then lost consciousness.
