105,000-SF retail project planned in Midvale
(Enterprise) Wadsworth Development Group is planning to break ground in April for the Riverwalk Shopping Center. The center will be a 12-acre, 105,000 square foot development at 7200 South and 700 West in Midvale.
The company purchased 10 acres near the new WinCo grocery store in the area and just recently added another two acres at the site. Project manager Marty Biljanic says the land will be home to nine or ten retail firms. The property is within the city’s Bingham Junction area where a number of projects are under way, including a 170,000 square foot facility for Danish firm FLSmidth. FLSmidth supplies equipment and services to the minerals and cement industries. A new TRAX light rail station is scheduled to bisect the property and be fully operational by next year.
Architect on the project is Troy Anderson of Dixon + Associates. Plans call for two buildings to come out of the ground next April. All buildings will be single level.
Two structures – one 20,000 square feet and another 30,000 square feet – will be able to accommodate medium-box retailers or could be split into spaces ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet.
Greg Pavich and Rob Moore of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT brokered Wadsworth’s purchase of the Riverwalk property along with Jeffrey Bernson of NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate.
