160-unit townhome development to be built in Highland

(The Enterprise) Flagship Homes plans to break ground in late January or early February for Toscana at Highland, a 160-unit, multiple-building townhome project. The homes will be constructed on almost 7.8 acres at 10900 N. Town Center Blvd. in the northern Utah County community of Highland.

Paul Gifford, president of the company, says the three-story units will range in size from 1,800 to 2,200 square feet and be priced between $169,000 and $199,000. Each home will feature two-car garages, living and kitchen areas, and third-floor bedrooms. Gifford adds that the entire project will have an Italian theme, involving tile roofs and stucco.

Eighteen units will initially be constructed along Town Center Boulevard; the rest will be dictated by demand. WPA Architecture, Provo, designed Toscana at Highland.

Flagship Homes decided to pursue the project in a time of economic hardship because their prices in that particular area are unmatched, according to Gifford. “We’re going to have the ground paid for, so I think for us it’s not a huge risk because we can go as fast or slow as the market dictates. But we’re feeling pretty confident,” he says.

M&T Bank, Seattle, a long-time financial partner of Flagship Homes, is providing financing for Toscana at Highland.
