A.F. Land Rover dealer closes
(Daily Herald) A Land Rover dealership in American Fork closed last Thursday as part of plans to consolidate to a larger dealership in South Jordan that will be home to three luxury sports car brands by next fall.
About 15 sales managers and technicians at the seven-year-old Land Rover American Fork, a 13,000-square-foot dealership at 1073 S. 630 East, were transferred to Land Rover Centerville at 155 S. Frontage Road, a 14,000-square-foot dealership that's also home to Bentley Salt Lake City, which opened last October.
"We're in final negotiations with Aston Martin, Spyker and Fisker," said Sharif Hadley, owner of the two Land Rover dealerships. By next fall, the Centerville dealership will relocate to a new 30,000-square-foot location in South Jordan, that will house Land Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin, Spyker and Fisker brands.
The Centerville dealer, which has about 30 workers, will be hiring another 10 to 20 more over the next 10 months, he said.
