All signs point to downtown rising
(Utah Pulse) The signs of progress are all around downtown Salt Lake City.
A new, cohesive branding campaign for Downtown Rising is now evident throughout the city with yellow "Rising" banners on everything from lamp posts to buildings with the logo wrapped around kiosks throughout the city.
"There is something very special going on in Salt Lake City," said Jason Mathis, executive director of the Downtown Alliance. "The message emphasizes all this activity downtown is more than just construction. It's about a vision for our city."
The first high rise building at City Creek Center can be seen from across downtown and 222 Main is now encased in its glass exterior. Bids for the development of the Utah Performance Center on Main are currently being reviewed and just this week the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City entered into a Definitive Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of the Utah Theater. The two theater projects will form the heart of the arts and culture corridor.
"Downtown Rising celebrates the relationship between a dynamic metropolitan center and the success of the entire region," said Mathis. "It is a commitment to our future."
The campaign was created by Infinite Scale Design Group, a downtown business that has handled large events including the last five Super Bowls and way-finding for Target Field, new home of the Minnesota Twins.
