Architects selected for Salt Lake City public safety complex
SALT LAKE CITY (Deseret News) — Mayor Ralph Becker has announced his choice of architects to design a new public safety complex east of Library Square.
GSBS Architects and McClaren, Wilson and Lawrie Inc. will be the team tasked with design and construction of the $125 million complex, Becker said.
"GSBS Architects and McClaren, Wilson and Lawrie will help us achieve our goal of creating buildings that both promote public safety and add to the vibrancy of our community," the mayor said in a prepared statement. "Clearly, this team shares in our commitment to a vital downtown Salt Lake City and is prepared to involve the community in the design process for the public safety buildings."
A selection committee comprised of police, fire, planning and administrative staff unanimously recommended the architects.
