August home, condo sales in SL County fell 4 percent

(Deseret News) The Salt Lake Board of Realtors on Monday reported that existing home and condominium sales in Salt Lake County fell 4 percent during August compared to the same period last year.

There were 1,007 homes and condominiums sold in August 2009, down slightly from August 2008, when 1,052 homes and condos sold.

The countywide median sales price of homes and condominiums for the period fell to $218,500, down 3 percent from $225,000 in August 2008.

The median home sales price has decreased 10 percent since the peak of $243,000 in June 2007, a board news release stated.
