Bluffdale reopens bridge on 13800 South

(SOUTH VALLEY JOURNAL) After four months of construction, Bluffdale City has bridged the gap with Riverton and is officially reopening the bridge at 13800 South and approximately 3400 West. The bridge straddles the border of the two cities and for this reason, both Bluffdale and Riverton agreed to split the cost of construction.

“Bluffdale took the lead on this because more Bluffdale residents use the bridge than Riverton residents,” said Bluffdale Public Works Manager Blain Dietrich. “We oversaw the construction and worked with the contractors and Riverton reimbursed us for half the cost.”

The estimated cost of the construction was $400,000 but the final total was much lower, according to Dietrich. “We came in under that by quite a ways,” he said. “The bills aren’t all in yet from engineering but it looks like it’s going to be under $300,000.”
