SALT LAKE CITY — Half of the City Creek Center food court in the KeyBank Tower will open in early June with between five and six restaurants, Bill Knowles of Downtown Rising said at the Downtown Merchant Meeting at the Gallivan Center on Thursday. The other half of the food court will remain closed until more residential and retail buildings have been completed within the City Creek area.

The sewer expansion project on 200 South between 300 West and West Temple will be the next phase of the development to be completed. Its completion, slated for before July, will extend the life of the existing sewer approximately 200 years.

Construction on the Richard’s Court Condominiums at 45 and 55 W. South Temple is scheduled to begin soon in time to be completed in early 2010.

During Memorial Day weekend, engineers will move the Odd Fellows building onto Market Street, placing it in a location that is will minimize disruption of business for the restaurants located on the street.

The next Downtown Merchant Meeting will be July 10 in the Zions Bank building.
