E. Millcreek Library prepares for construction of Millcreek Community Center
(Millcreek Journal) Closed doors mean open books for patrons of the East Mill Creek Library. The library officially closed its doors Oct. 1 to get ready for construction of the Millcreek Community Center but the library’s inventory will be up for grabs at a special “Extreme Makeover” sale Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 24.
“In the county, we have 18 libraries and the East Millcreek Library is one of our older ones,” said Scott Russell, Salt Lake County Library marketing and community relations manager. “It’s been in need of an update for quite some time.”
The library will be demolished along with Fire Station 106 and the East Millcreek Recreation Center. Part of the process for shutting the library down involves discarding materials that can’t be absorbed by the other county libraries.
