Eagle Mountain opens library expansion
EAGLE MOUNTAIN (Daily Herald) -- What started in a very small room 10 years ago is now a 4,500-square-foot library for Eagle Mountain residents with nearly 70,000 items, books, DVDs, audiobooks and bilingual materials.
A new expansion that more than doubles the space of its current City Hall location officially opened today at 10 a.m.
"Oh my goodness, it's wonderful," said librarian Michele Graves of the addition. "Oh my goodness, just the space. It's been able to allow us a separate section for children and then for young adults. They [teenagers] have a space that's quiet."
U.S. Sen Bob Bennett, R-Utah, Mayor Heather Jackson and other dignitaries cut a purple ribbon held across the entry to the completed project in a celebration event Monday morning attended by approximately 120 people.
