Greene’s Inc. Awarded I-15 Concrete Rehab Project from Centerville to Farmington
Bountiful, Utah – Greene’s Inc. Construction Services was recently awarded a concrete rehabilitation project from UDOT spanning the I-15 corridor between Centerville and Farmington. The project begins June 2 and is slated for completion within 90 days. Throughout the summer, traffic will be minimally affected as the work will be done after evening commuting hours and continue through the night.
“This section of road is such an important portion of I-15, we are committed to getting the job done right,” said Kristin Waters, president of Greene’s Inc. “Many residents drive back and forth from Davis County to Salt Lake, so our plans are focused on avoiding the highest traffic times and utilizing materials that allow for quick completion.”
Greene’s will cut out broken or cracked sections of the freeway and replace them with ready-to-install concrete panels. These pre-cast slabs are precisely measured, reinforced with rebar, and cured for two weeks to endure consistent vehicle wear and tear. After the concrete is set, the remaining seams are grouted to seal out the myriad of weather conditions that could affect the road’s longevity.
For smaller cracks and potholes Greene’s will saw out worn sections and patch the areas with mastic material. By enlisting nearly ten local subcontracting companies to assist them throughout the rehabilitation effort, Greene’s is prepared to complete the project quickly and efficiently.
