Home expo opens in St. George

St. George (Spectrum) - Find answers to all your home improvement and building questions beginning today at the 6th Annual Ultimate Home Expo.

A number of professionals will be available to answer your questions at the expo set today and Saturday at the Dixie Center today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors will experience the best in home improvements and find great deals at this year's event. Participating exhibitors are ready with information about their businesses and plan to offer their best price the current slow economy.

At the expo, you can learn easy and inexpensive ways to decorate your home. National presenter Brian Santos, The Wall Wizard, will teach interactive fun workshops on painting tips and techniques. Did you know that you can clean a paint brush in just 10 seconds? Did you know you can potentially speed up your painting time by 400 percent using simple painting techniques? Did you know you can use household items to obtain great faux finishes? The Wall Wizard is sponsored by Jones Paint & Glass. Check out the new green building resources area and the outdoor garden area, including discounted plants for sale. There will be lots of food available and great hourly prizes will be given away. A dog house auction will be held throughout event to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah.

Tickets are $3 per person and children ages 12 years and under are free. Childrens' activities will be held 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
