Hyde Park considers annexation in anticipation for development

(Herald Journal) Hyde Park residents packed the City Council chambers Wednesday to express concern over a proposed 466-acre annexation.
“I don’t think we ought to expand our city,” said resident Lee Osborn in an interview Thursday. “I don’t think we have the infrastructure.”
Anticipating the annexation will lead to development, Osborn and several others said the city should make sure its roads and water system can handle the possible influx of new residents.
The council decided to continue the public hearing to an as yet undetermined date next year.
