International company breaks ground at new Midvale business park

(Midvale Journal) In a downturn economy, the opening of a 90-acre business park with an international tenant is plenty to celebrate. On Aug. 4, local and state officials welcomed FLSmidth to View 72 Corporate Center, a new mixed-use retail/commercial development at the northern edge of the former Bingham Junction Superfund site between 7200 South and 7800 South at 1000 West.

FLSmidth is headquartered in Denmark, with locations in 40 countries. It supplies equipment and services to the mining and cement industry. In the past two years it purchased three Utah firms - Dorr-Oliver Eimco, CEntry and Dawson Labs. Their new 170,000-square-foot facility in View 72 will bring the three companies’ 350 employees on one site. The two buildings, expected to be ready for occupancy next August, will house a laboratory, offices and some warehousing. The Midvale site will specialize in separating metals from ore extracted from mining operations around the world.
