Kearns skate park construction moving forward

 (Taylorsville/Kearns Journal) Despite the tough economic times and budget shortfalls in most government entities, construction remains on schedule for the Kearns skate park.

Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon made that announcement at a Kearns town hall meeting on Feb. 2.

CraCar Construction Company began this project in August 2009 and will soon resume construction (weather permitting) with an anticipated completion date sometime in early June.

"There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony in mid to late June," Salt Lake County Project Manager Walt Gilmore said.

The skate park is one of many enhancements planned for the Olympic Oval Park located at 5662 South 4800 West in Kearns. The skate park is located on Ed Mayne Street, near the Olympic Oval.
