Lehi OKs new siding for planned community
LEHI (Daily Herald) -- Lehi City Council members unanimously approved the use of LP Smart Side, an all pre-engineered wood siding, as allowable exterior finishing for homes in planned communities.
The council later amended the Spring Creek Ranch area plan, permitting the material's use in a platt of homes previously planned with the controversial and now city-approved siding.
A qualifier was made in use of the product -- that the paint coating have at least a 25-year warranty, something Spring Creek developer Salisbury Homes says it has already done.
"The HOA wanted to finish with this product so there is consistency," said Lehi Planning Director Kim Struthers.
The durability of the paint on the siding was more of a concern in the meeting than the siding itself.
