Nature's Way closing Springville HQ, relocating to Wisconsin
SPRINGVILLE (Daily Herald) -- One of Springville's biggest employers, Nature's Way, is shuttering its Utah manufacturing, packaging and distribution plant over the next two years as it consolidates its operations to Green Bay, Wis.
The move will result in a loss of 240 jobs in Springville, with a majority of those jobs to be transferred to the Midwest, said Rory Mahony, chief operating officer of Nature's Way. But the company intends to keep a small presence in Utah County, about 30 employees, in customer service, marketing and other support roles.
The consolidation is occurring after Nature's Way, a subsidiary of German-based Dr. Willmar Schwabe Pharmaceuticals, reached an agreement last October to buy Enzymatic Therapy, a Green Bay nutraceutical company, with North Castle Partners LLC, its controlling shareholder. Akbit Inc., a New York supplements marketing company for Nature's Way, is also part of the consolidation, and has moved its operations to Wisconsin.
As a result of the move, Nature's Way is renamed Schwabe North America.
