New senior center plan clears hurdle

(Herald Journal) The proposed new Cache County senior center and adjoining apartment complex are one step closer to breaking ground.

After about 25 minutes of public comment, the Logan City Planning Commission on Thursday night unanimously approved a design review and conditional use permit for the Central Park Senior Center.

Now, Cache County must decide whether to partner with a Salt Lake City developer on the project, which could result in the current center being demolished and a brand new building, along with about 200 surrounding apartments, being constructed.

Before allowing public comment, the Planning Commission heard from Glen Goins, Logan City planning manager.
