New vets' home opens in Ogden
OGDEN (Salt LakeTribune) » A new home for veterans has opened in Ogden.
The George Wahlen Veteran's Nursing Home will have room for 120 people. The facility opened on Tuesday and is named for George Wahlen, a Medal of Honor recipient who died last year.
The director of the home says there's a list of 80 people are on a list to move in, but the limited staff wants to take the time needed to get the process done properly.
The home was dedicated in November after major construction. All that's left is hanging art on the walls.
The state spent about $20 million to build the home and got two-thirds back reimbursed by the federal government.
