Orem denies request for townhomes at development
(Daily Herald) Residents in the Geneva Neighborhood concerned about a potential change in zoning were successful in keeping a builder at bay on Tuesday night.
The property, located generally at 530 North and 1060 West, was rezoned by the City Council from an R6.5 zone to a Planned Residential Development zone in March 2006. At that time, the development proposal contained 32 units comprising one single residence, 15 twin homes and one three-plex.Currently, there are five twin homes and the single residence on the property.
Concerned that twin-home units are now not marketable at this location, developer Curtis Miner on Tuesday proposed a Planned Development zone to permit construction of 32 townhome units, which increases the density by 11units.
