Papa Kelsey's ribbon cutting

(Daily Herald) After having four and a half successful years as a business in Salem, one local pizza shop has expanded, opening their second location in Santaquin. Papa Kelsey's Pizza and Subs opened their doors for business on December 16, but held their official ribbon cutting and grand opening on Thursday, January 21st.

Mike and Terri Jenkins, residents of Salem for the past sixteen years, are excited about the new opportunities they will have in Santaquin.

"When I approached the city council about opening a new business, I told them about the experiences I had when I worked for Smith's in Payson," said Mike. "I got to know many of the families within Santaquin. I am excited to be back and be able to renew these friendships and be a part of the community."

Papa Kelsey's employees eight people who will take part in making the large variety of food that Papa Kelsey's offers. They have become quite well known for their bread and crust which is made fresh daily. They offer a variety of pizzas, house pizzas, oven baked subs, salads, soups, breads, fries and hot wings as well as a children's menu. They also offer party trays, lunch boxes and catered events.

"Our bread is definitely our claim to fame," said Mike. "That is why our slogan is 'In the bread and crust we trust.' We also have fresh cinnamon rolls each day and our topped off bread bowls are popular too."

The Jenkins are also excited to bring friendly service and delivery services to the area, especially many of the rural areas which are further away from local businesses.

"There hasn't been a place we haven't been able to deliver to yet," said Mike. "We have a minimum order required for delivery, so a customer just needs to let us know where they live and we can bring their order right to them."
