Park City builders cannot match 2008
(The Park Record) Park City's construction industry finished July having posted $52.4 million in work since January, keeping the industry at a pace of less than half of the figures recorded through the same period in 2008, the city's Building Department reports.
the end of July 2008, the figure sat at $120.7 million.
The department indicates it issued 85 permits in July worth a combined $6.8 million. Alterations and additions propped up the numbers in July, when approximately $5.5 million in work received permits. The most expensive alterations and additions were primarily made to commercial buildings, which accounted for 81 percent of the dollar value.
Meanwhile, the department granted permits for three houses, worth approximately $1.3 million combined. There were no permits issued for duplexes, multi-family projects or commercial or industrial buildings.
The $6.8 million in construction permitted in July was a jump from the previous month, when $3.4 million worth of work received permits. But the July figure was well behind the $11.5 million that was approved as part of 115 permits in the same month the year before.
