Rural appeal lands Logan on AARP list

(Herald Journal) Logan has once again made it onto a national list recognizing the city as a good place to live.

AARP Magazine’s September/October issue has placed Logan on its “Best places to live the simple life” list, along with four other communities throughout the nation.

The magazine hails Logan for its pastoral vibe with “mountain escapes.”

“While Utah usually conjures up pictures of desert and rock, Logan is nestled in the heart of the green Cache Valley, a famous dairy region,” the magazine reads. “It’s never lost its rural Utah appeal, with its old-fashioned Mormon Tabernacle and ultraclean city square.”

Logan joins Ames, Iowa, Montpelier, Vt., Greenville, S.C., and Tuscon, Ariz., on the list. An “online extra” from the July issue lists five more: Northampton, Mass., Lexington/Fayette, Ky., Texas Hill Country, Texas, Oxford, Miss., and Walla Walla, Wash.
