Salt Lake County Existing Home and Condo Sales Rise

Salt Lake County existing home and condominium sales rose by 30 percent this April, compared to sales from April of 2009.
There were 1,128 homes and condos sold in April, compared to 867 sold last April. Home and condo sales in April were the strongest on record since April 2007, when 1,400 residential properties were sold, according to the Salt Lake Board of Realtors.
The median price of all residential properties sold in April was $201,000, down 9 percent compared to a median price of $220,000 in April of 2009. For the first four months of this year, 3,323 homes and condos have been sold in Salt Lake County, a 24 percent increase compared to 2,681 homes and condos sold in the same period a year ago.
There are currently 7,544 active listings of homes and condos for sale in Salt Lake County. Based on sales trends over the past six months, those listings represent 9.8 month of housing inventory supply.
