Seniors give their input on proposed new center

(Herald Journal) The architect and developer of a potential new senior center in Logan took the idea to the seniors themselves Monday morning.

About 60 people filled a room at the Cache County Senior Citizens Center to hear details about a proposal that, if ultimately approved, could result in the current center being demolished and a brand new building, along with an adjoining apartment complex, being constructed.

“We called this meeting because we understood that there were some questions and concerns about this project,” said Tom Jensen, chairman of Architectural Nexus, who would serve as architect for the proposed Central Park Senior Center. “There are some unusual things here, and so I can understand why there has been some confusion.”

Jensen told The Herald Journal last week that some seniors had mistakenly believed that the senior center would “go away” if the project were approved.
