Shareholders OK rebuilding project

(Herald Journal) Owners of the upper canal overwhelmingly support a rebuilding project that could collectively cost canal shareholders several million dollars.

Voters representing 1,484 shares of the canal, officially called the Logan, Hyde Park, Smithfield Canal, on Monday approved a resolution giving the company the go-ahead to pursue a $25 million project that would result in a restoration of water to the Logan Northern Canal that ruptured in Logan last year.
