Smithfield development plan OK'd

(Herald Journal) A Logan developer is looking to remake part of downtown Smithfield.

Jef Hoggan is working with the city to establish a 19-lot development, called the Monte Vista Commercial Subdivision, west of Main Street between 500 South and 600 South.

The Smithfield Planning Commission OK’d the conceptual plan for the project at its meeting Wednesday night.

Hoggan said outlets on the 21-acre development will likely make and sell building and landscaping materials for sale. The area is zoned for manufacture.
