South Salt Lake schools to get needed upgrades
(South Salt Lake Journal) South Salt Lake City schools could soon see much-needed improvements made to buildings.
That’s because the Granite School District received approval on the $256 million bond the school board requested to pay for the work. Residents of areas within the school district such as Holladay, West Valley City, Kearns, Magna, Taylorsville and South Salt Lake approved the measure Nov. 3 with approximately 58 percent of the vote.
“We’re air conditioning 51 schools throughout the district, rebuilding five schools and then building three new schools,” said Granite School District Communications and Marketing Director Ben Horsley.
