Stokes Nature Center expansion in works
(Herald Journal) A three-way agreement could lead to a redesign of the area just east of Second Dam in Logan Canyon, which would double recreational availability, create additional parking and allow the Stokes Nature Center to move to a bigger building.
The Nature Center, along with Logan city and the U.S. Forest Service, announced this week that a conceptual plan to redesign the area is in the works. New construction or reconstruction could start by the summer of 2012.
One of the homes near Second Dam would need to be structurally modified — or completely replaced — before the Stokes Nature Center can make such a move, which will require money the center says it plans to raise.
