Tai Pan Trading expands into Utah County with Orem store

(The Enterprise) Tai Pan Trading International, a destination retailer offering home décor, kitchen ware and seasonal decorations at prices 25 to 50 percent below competitors, has opened its fifth store in Orem’s University Mall. Measuring 18,000 square feet, the store is significantly smaller than the firm’s operations in Sandy, Clearfield, St. George, and Southern California. Those stores, all freestanding, are between 55,000 and 75,000 square feet. Thirty employees have been hired to operate the Orem store, which will be open six days a week. Tai-Pan Trading has been in business nearly 30 years, first as a wholesale store that supplied merchandise to other retailers. It converted to a retail business in 2005.
