Tours Help Potential Buyers Find Homes

South Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County officials are working with the Salt Lake Board of Realtors to lead real estate agents and the aspiring homeowners they serve to believe that properties in the city are a great investment.

“The real estate industry obviously is having a difficult time with the recession and the housing and market downturn but the city is invested heavily in the residential community and we want to continue that -- to bring in good quality residences into the city,” said South Salt Lake City Mayor Bob Gray. “We’ve got several developers building wonderful homes but we don’t have anybody looking at them because a lot of people just don’t realize they’re here.”

To counter that problem, on April 29 a marketing campaign designed to increase awareness about opportunities for home ownership in the city began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at South Salt Lake City Hall, 220 East Morris Avenue. Gray and Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon attended the event to show their support before the start of the “Home Run Tour” of seven properties in South Salt Lake City chosen to showcase the benefits of living in the city.
