Townhomes to be built on Pierpont Avenue

An affordable housing project of townhomes will be built this summer by Paul Howells and Keith Nielson at 929 S. Pierpont Avenue. Twelve vintage-looking townhomes will be built on the less-than-one-acre site. The homes will range from 800 square feet for the one-bedroom buildings and 900 square feet for the two-bedroom buildings and will cost between $140,000 and $156,000. All will have private backyards, garages and a plot of land in a community garden. An architect and a contractor for the project have yet to be determined. Nielson is a principal with Pentalon Corp. Pierpont Lofts will be Howells first development, although he has a background in construction and agribusiness. The Enterprise, June 8-14, 2009
