Two local eateries to open at City Creek food court
(Enterprise) Two popular Utah eateries are scheduled to open quick-serve concepts in early March at the new City Creek Center food court in downtown Salt Lake City.
The Red Iguana, a well-liked Mexican restaurant that has operated on North Temple since 1985, and Settebello Pizzeria, which specializes in Napoletana-style pizzas, will join other eateries, including Sbarro and Saki Hana, in the new Center.
Red Iguana will be known as Taste of Red Iguana at City Creek, and will occupy 1,300 square feet. It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week, offering a menu similar to its parent restaurant but scaled down to the meet the requirements of fast food.
Owner Bill Coker comments that, “the food court is beautiful. It doesn’t look like any you’ve seen in any mall so far. It’s spacious, with 800 indoor and 200 outdoor seats. There’s a 50-foot-high glass atrium ceiling throughout and a grand staircase entrance off State.”
Settebello, which has operated a pizzeria at 260 S. 200 West in Salt Lake City for three years, will open its sandwich shop, Bocata, at about the same time as Taste of Red Iguana.
Bocata will offer sandwiches as well as some breakfast items such as a Spanish tortilla sandwich. The eatery will not initially be open for dinner.
