UtahRealEstate.com Reaches Millionth Home Listing

When realtor, Brian Ellis posted the home he and his family had been fixing up on UtahRealEstate.com, it was just another day at the office. What he didn’t expect was to achieve fame by listing the millionth property on the top-rated real estate Web site. The home, a four-bedroom brick rambler near downtown Salt Lake City, was a fun family project to improve the property and the West-side neighborhood.

“Since 1994, we’ve been working to help people find the home of their dreams, and it’s exciting to reach the milestone of millionth listing,” says Lee Payne, marketing director for UtahRealEstate.com. “We’ve been looking forward to this listing for many months and we can’t wait to see a family move into this charming home.”

“For nearly a decade now, my wife and I have been fixing up homes on the West-side, one by one,” says Brian Ellis, owner/REALTOR. “My wife sees potential, so she invests a lot of time in making a rundown house into a nice home where someone can enjoy raising their kids. We try to provide the best appliances and just take care of the little things to make the home special.”

The millionth home is located at 960 W 500 S in Salt Lake City. This Poplar Grove/Glendale neighborhood has a bit of a bad reputation. However, the Ellis’ are part of a recent trend to improve the community. Some families move there because of low home prices and others because land for growing gardens and raising chickens is widely available. Residents also see potential for an arts community and are working to raise funds for an art center.

The Ellis’ will receive prizes for listing the millionth home, including a $500 Visa gift card, $100 worth of free food at Rubios, two day passes to the Canyons Ski Resort and a one-year free membership to utahrealestate.com.
