Walgreens to build in South Davis

WOODS CROSS (Davis County Clipper) — Another Walgreens store is coming to South Davis, according to Robert Denkers, manager of the Bountiful store on 500 South.

The new store will be located at the southwest corner of U.S. 89 and 2600 South in Woods Cross, replacing both the former Atlantis Burgers restaurant and Harrison Imports auto dealership.

Atlantis Burgers will be reopening at the Southeast corner of U.S. 89 and Center Street in North Salt Lake, while Harrison Imports has consolidated its operations to a car lot immediately to the west.

Clearing of the former Harrison Imports office has already begun, and demolition of the Atlantis Burgers building is expected within the next few weeks.

According to Denkers, the new Walgreens is anticipated to open some time in 2010, but no construction date has been set. Typically, he said, new stores open about six months after their footings are poured.
