White City makes room for a few more residents
(Sandy Journal) Development in White City began during the 1950s. These days the community is considered an established area, and yet some spot development has emerged recently. A duplex at 913 East 9400 South is the newest building in the community.
“I've bought property before and fixed it up,” said property owner Nate Hedman. “This is my first time having property developed.”
Hedman started the project to gain extra income and he wanted to handle more than one residence. “The challenge in this economy was to try to get bids low enough to still be able to gain income but the contractor, Pentalon, presented a reasonable bid.”
Construction began on the project in early June and was completed in September. The finished duplex is two connected 2,300-square-foot two-story homes. The property includes a turnabout driveway, which was recommended when the county reviewed plans for the property. The process has involved removing dead trees and junk that had collected on the previously empty lot.
