(Deseret News) Salt Lake City and Salt Lake Chamber officials participated Thursday at an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the Hyatt Place Hotel at The Gateway.

The Boyer Co. developed the building, which is six stories high and contains more than 80,000 square feet. It has 128 guest rooms, a fitness center and an outdoor swimming pool.

Hyatt Place hotels have opened in nearly 130 locations nationwide.
