  • 300-home subdivision proposed in Grantsville

    Grantsville Estates LLC is proposing to build nearly 300 homes on 200 acres in Grantsville. Joe Cange wants to put half-acre lots on 120 acres and one acre lots on 80 acres.

  • Vernal builder proposes student housing
    08/11/09

    John Nedrin is seeking approval on a 30-unit apartment building in Vernal. Each unit will be 600 square feet. Nedrin plans to market the apartments as student housing since the building will be located at 500 N. 1700 West near the new USU/Uintah Extension campus. The project received site plan approval from the Uintah County Planning Commission. The completed building will be approximately 18,000 square feet.

  • 24-lot subdivision approved in Kaysville
    08/11/09

    The preliminary plat of a 24-lot subdivision at 150 W. 100 South was approved by the Kaysville City Council. John Gailey is the owner and developer for the project. He will build single-family homes on 8,000-square-foot lots.

  • Construction begins on Kneader's
    07/30/09

    Construction has begun on the 3,154-square-foot Kneader’s Bakery and Cafe in West Jordan. The fast food restaurant, located at 7713 S. Jordan Landing Boulevard, will be completed shortly. Rick Gibson of RBD Construction is over the building of the café.

  • Eagle Mountain discusses 2,700-acre development

    The owners of 2,700 acres near Eagle Mountain are discussing with the city council and the planning commission the possibility of annexing and developing the property.
     
    Eagle Mountain Planning Director Steve Mumford said the property owners, Jared Westhoff and Todd McFarlane, are working with Nate Shipp of DAI on plans for the property, which includes a 500- to 600-acre business park, 9,800 residential units and space for commercial and mixed-use development.
  • University Parkway retail development approved

    The development of a 3,000-square-foot retail pad at 180 E. University Parkway was approved by the Orem Redevelopment Agency. The pad will be an addition to an existing structure, making the entire space 20,000 square feet. The space will be available for lease. Curtis Miner is the architect on the project. KNP Construction will be building the structure. Construction is scheduled to begin as soon as the paperwork is finalized.

  • Villas at Harmony Place amend plans for LDS church

    The Villas at Harmony Place received preliminary approval for amended plans to the residential development. The Villas will now have 145 lots for patio homes, 16 lots less than the original plan. The lots will be replaced with a 3.5-acre parcel for a church for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Adams Company, Perry Homes and Bob Stevenson are owners of the development. The development will be built in three phases. The owners have started construction on the infrastructure.

  • Assisted care facility planned for Riverdale

    The Riverdale Planning Commission gave preliminary approval to Brent Crandall for the construction of a 20,000-square-foot assisted care facility, Aunt Nancy’s Assisted Living. Fifty-one units will be built in the first phase of the development and will include cooking, cleaning and laundry facilities for staff that will provide these services. The units will be one bedroom, studio style. The development, located at 1580 W. Ritter Drive in Riverdale, will also include a community dining room, a reception area, a lobby and a courtyard.
  • Ivory Homes plans to move forward with Mountain View development

    Ivory Homes is seeking approval for Phase 4 and 5 of its Mountain View development in Woods Cross. Phase 4 will add 17 lots and a park area to the neighborhood. Phase 5 will add another 16 lots. Ivory will build single family homes in the area, adding onto the approximately 50 homes that were built in the first three phases of the development.
  • Second phase of Valentine Estates receives recommendation
    07/30/09

    Phase 2 of Valentine Estates Townhomes received recommendation for approval from the Woods Cross Planning Commission. The second phase, at 1925 W. 2260 South in Woods Cross, will be started within the next month and will include 12 townhomes. The first phase of Valentine Estates was completed with 14 townhomes ranging in size. Nate Shipp of Development Associates is the developer for the townhomes.
