HURRICANE - Monday's standoff on Interstate 15 between law enforcement officers and a man believed to have a gun with two children in the vehicle prompted the closure of the highway and caused a surge in traffic through Hurricane Valley.
Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson, public information officer, said Craig Thygerson, 42, of Apple Valley, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash when his Geo Prism collided almost head on with a Fed Ex truck Ford F350.
